11^TH ANNUAL (!)

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY PARTY

Scoot up the South Fork of Provo Canyon to help us celebrate this holiday with food, friends, and conversation.

When: Monday, January 17 from 3-6 pm

Where: 6037 N. Shadyside Drive (the Augustine-Adams cabin, 12 minutes from the mouth of Provo Canyon, directions below). If there are heavy snows up South Fork on or shortly before the 17^th, the backup party location will be Jacoby home at 1734 Pine lane in Provo. Check this blog for updated location details as we get closer to the 17th.

We'll provide drinks, plates, utensils and some food. If you’d like to contribute, please bring a favorite dish to share with others.

You are welcome to sing or preach civil-rights related oratory or music.

Kids are welcome. In addition to participating, they can play in the snow outside (build snow forts/caves, ski in the meadow, etc.) or play games upstairs or in the basement. There is fine cross-country skiing or sledding one mile up South Fork at Big Springs Park. Feel free to play in the snow and then warm up at the cabin.)

Directions to 6037 N. Shadyside Drive from the mouth of Provo Canyon:

The attached map is helpful, principally to show parking spots. It's pretty easy to find the cabin with these directions:

1. Take Provo Canyon Road for 5.3 miles

2. At Vivian Park, turn right onto South Fork Rd., proceed 2.2 miles

3. Turn right onto Shadyside Dr. Follow paved loop to left for about 200 yards.

4. Park in “P” areas shown on map (availability depends on snow volume, we encourage car pooling/biking to the cabin).

Landmarks: Shadyside Dr. (step 3) is .5 miles after South Fork Park.

Shadyside Drive is marked by a street sign on the left side (E side) of S. Fork Rd.

Shadyside Drive is the first street after the property with the “Go Away” sign on the right side of the S. Fork road.
